A Loads of Bacon Channel Update

It’s cold outside.  YouTube has given my channel its second strike and I’m not allowed to upload anything to their servers for a couple of weeks.  Should I curl up in front of the fireplace and wish for warmer days?  Not hardly!

I’ve been quite busy, and I thought I’d give you all a peak at a few of the things going on.

A couple of weeks ago I got to go hog hunting with Ozark Spirit.  We had a great time of fun, food, and fellowship.  He and his family are very gracious hosts and I had an outstanding time.

Oh, and we shot some hogs too:

This was a little sow that I shot with my Rossi 92 chambered in .44 Magnum.  (Yes, I do have some meat in the freezer.)  This was the first time I’ve successfully hunted with my own cast bullets, and the shot with the 250 grain Keith SWC connected.  Here are those bullets loaded with 23.5 grains of H110; they are very potent hog medicine.

While I was there we got to see hogs, bobcat, coyotes, and had an all around great time.  (We also got to shoot a bunch of Tannerite.)  Thanks again to Ozark Spirit!

I’ve finally been able to test my first couple of round ball loads.  I’ve shown videos of casting the round balls and powder coating and loading them.  You can find the series here:  Round Ball Series

I was able to test the initial single and duplex loads for both .44 Special and .45 Colt.  I hope to have those videos edited and posted soon.

I, like so many of you, have an ever-present wish list of new firearms.  Over time new firearms are added to this list, and occasionally one or two may fall off.  Well, I’ve been saving and pinching pennies for quite a few months now and was finally able to order the parts for my newest two from the top of my list.  Here’s what has shown up so far:

You’ll have to come back soon to see the rest, but there is a lot of building, casting, loading, and shooting in the near future.  I’m excited!

I’ve also been on the phone with NOE Bullet Moulds ordering my new molds, case expander plugs, and several other items to get these new firearms going the way I want.  I really suggest you check out NOE Bullet Moulds, and don’t forget that they’ve given The Reloaders Network a 10% off coupon code:  LOB001
They were the first company to jump on board with supporting The Reloaders Network, and they certainly deserve our support as well.

That’s all I have for this update.  I’d love to hear what y’all have been up to.  I know many of you are battling short days and frigid temperatures, but hopefully you’re preparing now for the warmer weather that is sure to be hear in a matter of weeks.
