Wife’s Precision Rifle Upgrade and Load Development (PT 1)

In this mini series I’ll be working over the wife’s Savage .243. We are swapping the barrel, installing an after market recoil lug, glass bedding, installing a new Arken optics scope, working on some load development and much more. I’ll be using some Peterson brass, Sierra 150 grain HPBT and testing out a few powders and primers. This series is likely to be a 6 to 8 part series so stick around, this should be a very fun project. I’m doing all the machining myself, threading and chambering included!
Since we buy everything in bulk, we’ve made the decision to swap her rifle from a .243 to a 6.5 Creedmoor. The barrel we are installing is a blank from Preferred Barrels out of Utah.
