A pleasant summer morning in the backyard with the reassembled Type 99 and a cup of coffee.
The rifle is back together and ready for test firing in preparation for a Military Rifle Shoot this weekend. I’ll have three days to find something that shoots well at 200 yards!
I decided to keep as many original parts on the rifle as possible – I replaced the front sight blade, the rear sight leaf, the rear tang screw and the rear sling swivel. There are still details to wrap up, like more applications of rust blue to the tang and front sight base, and some clean up of the replacement tang screw.
I am Curtis from Jackson, Michigan. My firearms interests include shooting, reloading, casting, a bit of collecting, and occasional competitive shooting.
