The first time at the range with a recently purchased stainless steel Thompson/Center Contender chambered in 45/70 – just a few quick shots, standing, at 25 yards.
The ported 10″ barrel isn’t too bad to shoot with the relatively light loads that I chose to start with. I’m sure it could be a real handful with more robust ammunition.
