I’ve Always Kinda Wanted One… A Ruger Mini Thirty Ranch Rifle from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula

Trying out the 189 prefix Mini Thirty Ranch Rifle that I picked up during a recent Upper Peninsula trip to visit my Son that is attending Michigan Tech.

I purchased the rifle just a few blocks away at Northwoods Sporting Goods in Hancock, Michigan. I stop in at Northwoods each time I visit the Houghton area – it’s a great place to shop!

This 1994 manufacture Mini Thirty had already been fitted with an Eagle International HK style front sight and flash suppressor. Since this time out shooting, I have installed a Tech-Sights MINI200R rear sight. The Eagle front and Tech-Sights rear make a very nice combination.

Mark and I have had no difficulty putting rounds on steel out to 150 yards.
