Looks like it’s time for another post. Today’s topic is the Hornady 68g BTHP Match Bullet loaded with Ramshot TAC. This powder has been on my radar for some time, but I have never seen it locally. Recently I ordered a rather large powder order (12lbs) from Graf’s and made sure to include it. My […]
This is a quick look at my new (to me) rifle scope I received today. One of the problems that I have run into lately is more rifles than scopes. I am constantly swapping scopes and moving them rifle to rifle. As most of you know I am a huge fan of Sightron scopes and […]
Day 2 of the Georgia Shooting Connection / The Reloaders Network Meet Up from July 6, 2019. Stretching out the rifles on the 1000 yard range. If you are in the area, stop by, you won't regret it.
If 22 Plinkster can do, so can I. 50 yards with a Ruger Precision 22. Sightron S-Tac 4-20. Eley Club 40g.
Chico working the Ruger American Predator 6.5 Creedmoor and T/C Compass 308 at the 1000 yard Range, at Dead Zero Shooting Park in Spencer, TN. This is a combination of my video and Tread's video. I think it turned out great.
Doing a little long range at Dead Zero in Spencer, TN. A Huge THANK YOU to Tread for sharing what he recorded with me.
Day one of our Georgia Shooting Connection / TheReloadersNetwork meet up at Dead Zero Shooting Park in Spencer, TN. This was the first time many of us meet face to face. The range treated us like royalty. Top notch facility that will keep getting better over time. Many, many rounds were sent down range that day.
Trying out the Electronic Targets at Dead Zero in Spencer TN.
In today’s video, I am taking my new Ruger Precision Rimfire out to 400 yards. This is the second outing with it. Using the Federal Auto Match dialed to 70 MOA or so. The Eley Club is much more consistent, but I am conserving the few boxes I have, and the Auto Match has a […]
I did a little horse trading this past week and have another rifle on the way (which will be named later.) To put my Sightron S-Tac on it, I will need an AR height mount. I ordered a AR-Stoner Extended 1 Piece 30mm Cantilever Scope Mount from MidWayUSA for $49. I decided to go ahead […]
Where has 243 Been????
Just a quick post today. This will be the last 308 post for now. This will conclude all the powder that I have, that will work for 308. I recently picked up some Accurate 2230. This is my go to powder for 223 using the Hornady 68g BTHP Match bullets. Going off the Accurate’s load […]
Today’s post continues off the last one. Click this link to see it. 308 T/C Compass 168g Hornady Match with IMR4895 and Reloder 15. I determined in the last post the charge of 43.3g of RL-15 was the one I wanted to explore a little more. This group produced a .774″ group at 100 yards […]
Continuing on with the T/C Compass series, today’s post combines my last two shooting outings, which were about a week apart. Since my last post I had to take the range down due to farming season. We still have been plagued by a ton of rainfall in the past couple weeks. However it has been […]
I have had a blast this past week with my Compass. This rifle is really impressing me. However it is a challenging rifle, and I like that. Two issues that I have dealt with are barrel harmonics and barrel heat. I have found during load development, a good group is almost always followed by a […]
Since the last post, I decided to try another brand of 168g bullets for my Compass in 308. Since this is a budget rifle, I am trying to stick to budget friendly bullets. The 168g Speer Match bullets were not meeting my expectations. For this week’s post, I picked up some 168g Hornady Match bullets, […]
This past Monday Night, I attended a Town Hall Meeting in my home county of Wayne, in Illinois. These types of meetings have taken place all over the state in response to the proposed anti-gun legislation coming out of Springfield.
I know it’s late in the day, but Happy Easter everyone. We had an absolutely beautiful day here in Southern Illinois. Highs reached the mid 70’s and only a slight breeze from the South. I took the T/C Compass back out this afternoon for round two. If you haven’t check out the first post here’s […]
My journey to obtain a 308 has been a long difficult road. Back in the fall, I stumbled across Ocean374‘s deal on a Thompson Center Compass from Kentucky Gun Company. They had a smoking deal, along with a factory rebate, making this rifle $225 in my hands. I picked up a SWFA fixed 20 power […]
Picked up the Harbor Freight Tumbler yesterday with a 20% off coupon. I have been playing around with it using BB's for media. Is this a good idea???
The Reloaders Network Multi-Author Live Stream - January 2019
After 2 rounds of Satterlee load development with new and once fired Starline Brass, I am taking 41.5g of H4350 out to the 1000 yard line using Hornady 147g ELD's. This method works very well and saves on components. Most cases you can have a good shooting load in 10 rounds or less.
Playing around today with the Magnetospeed Chronograph. I recently picked this up on sale at Midway. So far I am very impressed with it. In today's video I am working on a Satterlee load development for my Ruger American in 6.5 Creedmoor using some Starline Brass and some 147g ELD's. I even take a few shots with the 460 Weatherby Magnum for a torture test.
Recently I received some Barnes bullets from Preacher's Day Off and it is time to load them up. We are using our once fired Starline Brass that was recently used in the Fort Scott Munition videos. Going through all the steps to load this ammo. Due to some recent rainfall we won't be able to shoot these rounds today.
