I'm 19 years old and I have very little experience with rifles, or even hand guns at this point. I am aware of the idea of long-range shooting but truly don't know much beyond you shoot at a target that is far away. I am unfamiliar with cartridges, bullet weights and even brands of rifles. I was watching Public Enemies and see Melvin Pervice run the bolt on a Mauser 98 and think to myself, I want a bolt-action rifle. But what brand should I buy?
At the range comparing two of my precision rifles against each other. My heavy target rifle vs portable hunting rig. Comparing Tract Optics MRAD ELR and Arken Optics SH4 Gen 2. West Desert ShooterMy channel’s main focus is long range shooting and rifle reloading. I got my start on YouTube late 2016 and have been […]
The brand new Uintah Precision UPR-15 chambered in .224 Valkyrie has arrived! I have received the brand new UPR-15 upper from the Utah based company Uintah Precision. The UPR-15 is the second offering from the company; it is a bolt-action complete upper for an AR-15 patterned rifle. With the push of two pins you can […]
Hey guys, I would like to start my contributions to The Reloaders Network by answering the common questions I get asked regarding the Uintah Precision UPR-10. It is a bolt action AR-10 upper, mine is chambered for 6.5 Creedmoor. The questions I am most often asked are; Why a bolt action AR-10? Why are they so expensive? Why would I buy this when I can buy a Ruger Precision rifle for the same price?
This is what the Tikka T3x 7mm SAUM was built for! Going further than every other tool in my safe. This trip was the entire drive behind the build and the choice of each component to carefully curate a 2,000 yard capable rig, the Vasara! (Means Hammer in Finnish where Tikka is manufactured) I have been chomping at the bit for more than a year to attempt this feat and bring you guys this video. I’m glad to share my results and bring you along the journey! Can’t wait for the next goal to crush!
Reloading 6mm Creedmoor for beginners. I show how to set up dies and check shoulder bump as well as a reloading gear review with the RCBS Chargemaster Lite and MEC single stage press. Here are the results from the first trip out with the Uintah Precision UPR-15 chambered in 224 Valkyrie. The UPR 15 is an AR-15 bolt action Upper that swaps with the push of two pins onto any standard AR-15 lower, but this rifle has the added accuracy benefits of a bolt action.
For this trip I’m testing out my new Ivey Adjustable scope base available in MILs or MOA it makes extreme long range shots possible with the ability to add tons of elevation to the optic.
I have a cheap simple solution to the stack of boxes that hold your dies and shell holders and you can make one too! The idea started when I was stacking some scraps of wood for my fire pit. I arranged a simple step design and took a few pictures. My dad is a carpenter by trade so I sent him the pictures with an idea of some dimensions.
I am getting regular email notifications from YouTube that my content has been reviewed and it is “Not suitable for all advertisers.” These videos that are being demonetized have a few things in common. #1 They are older videos. From my first posted gun content which was uploaded in late 2016. It seems that recently, […]
Whether you are looking for a competitive tactical shooting scope or something to take on a sheep hunt, its superior clarity, excellent turret tracking and lean overall weight make this optic hard to pass up.
I went on a trip with my brother and set up targets at 350 and 500. This is the first time really going for groups at distance with the 95g Sierra Match King. My rifle has a 1:7 twist so I was curious how stable they would be.
Arken optics brand new SH4 gen 2 brings in an amazing feature set at an unbeatable value. But it isn’t worth much if it won’t perform. Let’s see what it can take and if it’s worthy to be on top of a precision rifle! West Desert ShooterMy channel’s main focus is long range shooting and […]
An overview of my new reloading tool! I often overlook upgrading gear for reloading and spend more on components like bullets or powder. This is a very welcome addition to my lineup and should greatly speed up my priming process while lowering contamination risk of the primers themselves. This kit seems great and so far I’m impressed with the Frankford Arsenal hand primer platinum kit. She’ll holders included is a great touch and makes priming almost any cartridge you have easy right out of the box. The adjustable primer seating depth is a great feature and something I plan to utilize when operating the hand primer.
Having approached the 1,000 yard line many times in the past year each time with more confidence I have learned the hard way what does not work, which is just as critical as knowing what does. This will be a list of what I believe has led to both success and failures at the highly […]
These are the results from my first trip shooting the Sierra 95g match king. I loaded the components into federal brass with Alliant RL-17 sparked by federal AR match primers. I loaded them to magazine length of 2.260 My rifle has a MGM barrel with a 1:7 twist and a 22” length with a Witt machine muzzle rise eliminator brake.
Thanks so much to my wonderful wife for taking us through the data. she made this video much more entertaining than me going on about groups and velocities with bad excuses. These groups are admittedly not as good as they could be. I will take the loads with good velocity data and try them again. […]
Here is my brass prep process that has gone beyond the standard resize and decap. I weight sort some bullets and brass in search of some ragged hole groups. I talk about my expanding mandrel and neck turner I will be using soon and talk about the idea behind this series. Loading up some 140g Barnes match burner bullets for 6.5 Creedmoor that I may use for competition shooting.
Part 2. We get into loading Components, priming, throwing powder charges, seating bullets, neck tension and a weight check across 5 rounds. Showcasing my process of actually reloading 6.5 Creedmoor!
This is my first rimfire rifle and I’m extremely excited to have the latest offering from Tikka. This is the T1x and it has some really cool features. It does come with a premium level cost comparable to CZ 455 level of rifles. I bought this as a trainer for my big Tikka T3x and it does not disappoint. Tons of fun and I will definitely be getting into some 22LR ELR shots in future videos! I try a few brands of ammo and check group size as well as run some rounds at the dueling tree target with the wife!
