I wasn’t able to find a comprehensive video on how to machine and build a rifle on the Savage platform. As many of you know, with all the pre-fit parts available for a Savage, most people with a little instruction can assemble one in their home garage! So from that point, this series was born.

The Savage Rifle Build is a 2 part series that will walk you though all the steps needed to build a smooth operating and highly accurate rifle. This is based on the Savage Target Action, however all the same principles apply. The only difference is the shank size on the barrel, the Target Action being slightly larger than the standard shank of 1.060″.

We will show you all the machine work on the lathe, polishing, fitting, glass bedding and much more. If you purchase pre-fit parts, nearly all this work can be accomplished in a home garage without the need to buy expensive tools. You’ll only need a couple specialty tools that are rather inexpensive and can be easily ordered from several vendors. The rifle we show in this series is chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, however the chambering of the rifle will cross over to other calibers as well.

There is more than 2 hours of instruction, so put on a pot of coffee, put your feet up, sit back, relax, and learn how all this comes together! If you decide you’d like to build your own custom rifle, now that you own this series you can always refer back to it any time you need!

Note:  Purchasing this video series will provide you download links for two MPEG-4 (aka MP4 or “.mp4”) video files. These files are a 3.9 GB file and a 3.4 GB file that you can save to your hard drive.

The easiest way to play an MP4 file is to double-click on the file and let your computer decide which default application should open the it. Most computers have compatible applications already installed. Videos stored in the MP4 format can be viewed by many different applications to include Windows Media Player, QuickTime, and VLC. MP4 files are also supported by default on many mobile devices.
