Reloading Ammunition to Save Money

Reloading Ammunition to Save Money Having owned a firearms business for several years, I was (and often still am) mystified whenever I’d hear someone casually remark that “You can’t save money reloading ammunition.”  Many gun shops are understandably reluctant to carry much stock when it comes to reloading for several reasons, not the least of […]

My First Rifle and the Start of a Long-Range Journey (TRN Exclusive)

I'm 19 years old and I have very little experience with rifles, or even hand guns at this point. I am aware of the idea of long-range shooting but truly don't know much beyond you shoot at a target that is far away. I am unfamiliar with cartridges, bullet weights and even brands of rifles. I was watching Public Enemies and see Melvin Pervice run the bolt on a Mauser 98 and think to myself, I want a bolt-action rifle. But what brand should I buy?

Loading and Shooting the M1 Garand

Loading and Shooting the M1 Garand The M1 Garand rifle is a .30 caliber, gas-operated, 8 shot clip-fed, semi-automatic rifle. Expanding gases from a fired cartridge are diverted into the gas cylinder. Here, the gases meet a long-stroke piston attached to the operating rod, which is pushed rearward by the force of this high-pressure gas. […]

Reloading 30-06 and the Sheridan Slot Gauge

Reloading 30-06 and the Sheridan Slot Gauge An on-the-fly video while I was reloading some 30-06 ammo. This was definitely off-the-cuff and hopefully I didn’t say too many dumb things. I really like the Sheridan Case Gauges and the slotted gauge is just too cool. Thanks for watching. KFWI enjoy all things outdoors and gun […]

1917 Load Development

I just became an author and would like to introduce myself with a video of load developing the Eddystone 1917 30-06. I use the Audette Ladder Test method, I load up a number of cartridges using the same components. Each cartridge loaded gets a specific increment of more powder. With the 30-06, I use an […]

Shooting the M1 Garand with HXP and Reloads

Shooting my CMP M1 Garand with some Greek HXP ammo and a few different handloads. All shooting was done at 100 yards and I was trying out the Caldwell brass trap. KFWI enjoy all things outdoors and gun related. I am a life long hunter and staunch supporter of self defense and the right to […]

Shooting the M1903 and the Mauser K98k

Just shooting two of my favorite bolt action military surplus rifles. The M1903 Springfield manufactured by Rock Island Arsenal and the Mauser K98k ( s/243 mfg 1937) refurbished by Yugoslavia. I was shooting Greek HXP in 30-06 and some different 8mm Mauser ammo that I had. The 8mm Mauser handloads were Hornady 8mm (323) 150gr. […]

These are NIJ 0101.06 level 4 ceramic rifle protection plate inserts by RTS Tactical. I decided to hit the armor with some old WWII era 30-06 AP rounds and then send the other plate to Leverguns 50 for further destruction. Buffalo's OutdoorsIf you enjoy shooting firearms, this is the author for you! Especially if you […]

New Barrel for the M-1 Showed Up

So, inconsistencies in the Criterion Barrel was attributed to a loose ferrule that holds the handguard on. I fixed it and 1 MOA to sub-MOA is achievable now. Same day my Douglas barrel shows up. Go figure. ThorsaxeMy Channel is geared for the Hobbyist Handloader, Reloader or Bullet caster.
