The Milk Jug So what’s the big deal? Basically, everyone in the US knows what this is. We drink or pour from one every day. Instead of throwing it away when we are finished, we can repurpose it. Filling it up with water makes a great target. In my opinion the milk jug is a […]
This is a demo on how to make a guide to attach the tail wads to the Russian Fire hydrant slug. also, a few thought about jumping into the deep end and purchasing them. You have to think in terms of Costco and how much you get to your door for the shipping.
Steve is stretching the long range limits of the AR platform. in this video he goes over some of the things he has done to shoot his rifle at 1500 yards. Next stop one mile!
What is it? The Long Range Shooters of Utah have several events throughout the year shooting milk jugs at ranges of 1000 to 2000 Yards. Participants have 10 shots in a 5-10 minute time window to hit a milk jug at one of the specified ranges. No sighter shots are allowed. Generally they want your […]
Today's video is about the Hornady 68g Match BTHP Bullet. I am loading them up with Varget and Accurate 2230. I am using my Savage Axis 223. I picked this rifle up over Christmas break for $157. It had a $100 rebate that I received about a month later. This rifle has a EGW 20 MOA base. First I put on a Sightron SiH-TAC 3-9x40 scope. I have recently put a Vortex Viper 6-24x50 on it. This is the first time out with the Viper.
These are the results from my first trip shooting the Sierra 95g match king. I loaded the components into federal brass with Alliant RL-17 sparked by federal AR match primers. I loaded them to magazine length of 2.260 My rifle has a MGM barrel with a 1:7 twist and a 22” length with a Witt machine muzzle rise eliminator brake.
Here I take you through my full process for brass prep. Very similar to other rifle cartridges so if you’re familiar with Reloading you will be throwing powder and seating bullets in no time. I take some time to explain Reloading techniques and why I do each process and how it improves the final product. […]

Is the 224 Valkyrie any good for varmint hunting? I find out in this video when I take a trip to Wyoming to do some pest control for a farm. The video starts with a rundown of my 224 Valkyrie Rifle build and components, followed by varmint hunting and I close it out with some 224 Valkyrie reloading data and components.
I finally picked a round to do some longer range testing. Decided on the 44g load. Starting out at 250, then 400, 500, and 650. These rounds are shooters.

What happens when Wyoming has a long winter and Steve is locked up in his shop for way too long? He puts together an awesome gun, that’s what! This one is a TC Contender with an EA Brown barrel chambered in 22 Mag. This could be the perfect rifle for our 500 yard rimfire zombie. […]
Here is my brass prep process that has gone beyond the standard resize and decap. I weight sort some bullets and brass in search of some ragged hole groups. I talk about my expanding mandrel and neck turner I will be using soon and talk about the idea behind this series. Loading up some 140g Barnes match burner bullets for 6.5 Creedmoor that I may use for competition shooting.
Winchester’s new short magnum is a big deal, offering hunters and target competitors a flat long range trajectory, reduced recoil, enhanced terminal ballistics, and impressive energy as distances increase. Today’s review is not academic; yes, I have the charts and graphs to illustrate the potential of 6.8 Western, but I also have two deer and […]

Thanks so much to my wonderful wife for taking us through the data. she made this video much more entertaining than me going on about groups and velocities with bad excuses. These groups are admittedly not as good as they could be. I will take the loads with good velocity data and try them again. […]
If you have ever shot IHMSA (International Handgun Metallic Silhouette Association) you might get a kick out of this video. It gives a pretty good depiction of the difference between a rookie and a veteran trying to shoot 500 yards from a body supported shooting position with a scoped pistol. Feel free to laugh we […]

Often when we have someone start talking to us about long range shooting they often say something like, “Yeah I would like to do that, but I can’t afford the rifle I would need”, or, “That sounds like an expensive hobby”, or maybe, “I don’t reload so I can’t be successful at distance.” While equipment […]
