Eliminating the Mossberg Rattle

When it comes to quality-made shotguns at affordable prices, it's pretty hard to beat a Mossberg.  Models such as the 88, 500 and 590 have a large and dedicated fan base, and it's not difficult to imagine why.  But as respected as these scatter-guns are, they're not without their detractors.  Without a doubt, the number one gripe you'll hear about them is the much-maligned 'Mossberg Rattle.'

Mossberg 500 3-Barrel Combo Shotgun

Recently I picked up a Mossberg 500 3-Barrel combo shotgun for use with my ammunition testing and development.  It's a very unique package that includes two smoothbore barrels, a rifled barrel, as well as a full set of chokes.  Designed as an all-in-one solution for hunters, this package includes just about everything you'll need for a variety of different game, from fowl to fauna, at an unbeatable price.

Saturday Was A Good Day

Saturday morning started off early for me. The last three years I have taken part in "Grace And Clays", an annual fundraiser sporting clays shoot to benefit Grace Baptist Bible College near me in Winston-Salem, NC. So I was on the road early to Hunting Creek Preserves for a hundred rounds of sporting clays, followed by a round of pork barbecue, individual and team awards as well as door prizes.

What’s the Gun You’ve Shot the Most?

What’s the Gun You’ve Shot the Most? A while back Thor’s Axe 777 invited me to participate in a shooter’s coffee chat collaboration between a few gun channels.  The topic of this one was “What’s the gun you’ve shot the most, and what’s the story behind it?” I thought about this for a while, and […]

Budget-Priced Chinese eBay Mossberg Shotshell Carrier

Recently I was looking for a shell carrier to install on my Mossberg Maverick 88, and was horrified to see that anything that didn't require me to glue something to the receiver, or put screws directly into the stock started at $75.  Considering I only paid a couple hundred bucks for this gun to begin with, there was no way I was going to spend almost half that again on a shell carrier.

More Testing With The Lee 7/8oz Hobo Slug

I combined 2 shorter videos. First is the Mossberg 930 JM Pro with a modified choke tube. Shooting the Federal load with un cut wad pedals at 20 yards. Second is the Mossberg 500 with a slug barrel shooting the same load with 2 cardboard spacers under the slug to help in slug wad separation […]

Custom Rounds At Night

I made a few "Custom Rounds" for the Church Clay Pigeon Shoot. These are a blast at night. All you have to do is add a little steel wool on top of the powder charge.  The only down fall, it's hard to see if you hit your target.  Using my Mossberg 500 12g and some Federal shells from the 100 pack.
