300 Win Mag load development with the Thompson Center Compass using the 220 gr Sierra Match King and Hodgdon Retumbo.

300 Win Mag load development with the Thompson Center Compass using the 168 Berger Classic Hunter and Alliant Reloder 26. Up to this point find a Low SD load has proved very difficult. We implement the Scot Satterlee load development data that we generated previously and use that information to choose our test loads in our journey to find a great load for our Thompson Center Compass. This was a $200 rifle that we are going to test to see how accurate it can be with a very budget setup.

In this video I update the Thompson Center Compass project chambered in 300 Win Mag. We load up Winchester Brass with the 220 gr SMK with Vihtavuori N560. We use our Satterlee load development style to develop our velocity curve.

308 Satterlee load development

After 2 rounds of Satterlee load development with new and once fired Starline Brass, I am taking 41.5g of H4350 out to the 1000 yard line using Hornady 147g ELD's. This method works very well and saves on components. Most cases you can have a good shooting load in 10 rounds or less.

Playing around today with the Magnetospeed Chronograph. I recently picked this up on sale at Midway. So far I am very impressed with it. In today's video I am working on a Satterlee load development for my Ruger American in 6.5 Creedmoor using some Starline Brass and some 147g ELD's. I even take a few shots with the 460 Weatherby Magnum for a torture test.
