Friendly husband and wife competition today using the Ruger Precision Rimfire at 100 yards with CCi Standard Velocity. Thanks for watching!!! Merry Christmas!!! 243 OutdoorsMy name is Josh and I love Firearms and Freedom. I started 243 Outdoors as a YouTube Channel back in 2015 and have branched out to other media sites.
If 22 Plinkster can do, so can I. 50 yards with a Ruger Precision 22. Sightron S-Tac 4-20. Eley Club 40g.
Doing a little long range at Dead Zero in Spencer, TN. A Huge THANK YOU to Tread for sharing what he recorded with me.
In today’s video, I am taking my new Ruger Precision Rimfire out to 400 yards. This is the second outing with it. Using the Federal Auto Match dialed to 70 MOA or so. The Eley Club is much more consistent, but I am conserving the few boxes I have, and the Auto Match has a […]
I did a little horse trading this past week and have another rifle on the way (which will be named later.) To put my Sightron S-Tac on it, I will need an AR height mount. I ordered a AR-Stoner Extended 1 Piece 30mm Cantilever Scope Mount from MidWayUSA for $49. I decided to go ahead […]
Just a quick post today. This will be the last 308 post for now. This will conclude all the powder that I have, that will work for 308. I recently picked up some Accurate 2230. This is my go to powder for 223 using the Hornady 68g BTHP Match bullets. Going off the Accurate’s load […]
Today’s post continues off the last one. Click this link to see it. 308 T/C Compass 168g Hornady Match with IMR4895 and Reloder 15. I determined in the last post the charge of 43.3g of RL-15 was the one I wanted to explore a little more. This group produced a .774″ group at 100 yards […]
Continuing on with the T/C Compass series, today’s post combines my last two shooting outings, which were about a week apart. Since my last post I had to take the range down due to farming season. We still have been plagued by a ton of rainfall in the past couple weeks. However it has been […]
Since the last post, I decided to try another brand of 168g bullets for my Compass in 308. Since this is a budget rifle, I am trying to stick to budget friendly bullets. The 168g Speer Match bullets were not meeting my expectations. For this week’s post, I picked up some 168g Hornady Match bullets, […]
I know it’s late in the day, but Happy Easter everyone. We had an absolutely beautiful day here in Southern Illinois. Highs reached the mid 70’s and only a slight breeze from the South. I took the T/C Compass back out this afternoon for round two. If you haven’t check out the first post here’s […]
My journey to obtain a 308 has been a long difficult road. Back in the fall, I stumbled across Ocean374‘s deal on a Thompson Center Compass from Kentucky Gun Company. They had a smoking deal, along with a factory rebate, making this rifle $225 in my hands. I picked up a SWFA fixed 20 power […]
Taking the Savage Axis 223 out to 1003 yards today. Using some Hornady 68g BTHP Match bullets on a charge of Accurate 2230. The scope is maxed out at this range, so I have to hold an additional 6 MOA. The Scope is a Sightron S-Tac 4-20x50.
This is a continuation of a video I made last spring. Link to video below. We determined a good load, now we need to see how it does at longer ranges. Shooting Hornady 68g BTHP Match Bullets using 22.5g of Accurate 2230.
Taking the 6 1/2 Creed out today for Eagle Eye’s Can Challenge. My battery ran out on my target cam after shot 6. I did pick up an external battery today for some extra run time. Great Challenge Kenny, sorry it’s late, but here you go. This poor girl has sat in the safe since the end of May. Four and a half months since I last shot it. I've got a 500 yard range set up now. I tried setting up a target camera, but that didn't work out. You will just have to listen for the "Ding" after I shoot. Still shoots like a champ. I thought I would give you a break from the 223.
Once again the wait is over. This video was filmed in May at the Long Range Shooter’s of Utah’s International Milk Jug Challenge in Price, UT. Absolutely one of my finest moments. The $400 Ruger American Predator chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor delivered the goods. Shooting Hornady 140g ELD’s on a charge of H4350 flying along […]
Time to take these rounds out to the range. Using my Savage Axis and a Sightron SiH-Tac 3-9x40
The wait is over and the video turned out awesome. This is the first time I have seen the target camera footage. This was filmed this past May at The Long Range Shooter's of Utah's International Milk Jug Challenge. I am using my Ruger American Predator chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. Four shots was all it took to bust the jug. I also took home the Golden Jug Award.
August match held at Westside Sportsman's Club in Evansville, Indiana. Great time as usual. Very close competition. Also a little bonus footage at the end.
After many boxes of match 22 ammo, I have decided on the Eley Club. This is the orange box. I have had single hole groups at 25 yards, .25″-.50″ groups at 50 yards, and .75″ to 1 inch groups at 75 and 100 yards. It seems just a little better than the yellow box […]

Today I decided to try some of the stages that will be used Saturday. A complete list is available at the beginning of each month. I also run some ammo through the chronograph.
Sending some rounds down range at 50 Yards. Just trying to get it broke in. Using CCI Standard Velocity, Aguila Rifle Match, and Federal Gold Metal HV Match. The Sightron S-Tac Scope is amazing.
Doing some upgrades to the 22 today. Picked up a Boyd's Pro Varmint stock with bottom metal from DIP INC. Mounting a Sightron S-Tac 4-20x50 scope also.
