I haven't been able to do any bullet casting, reloading, or make any trips to the gun range in about 3 months. I finally had a chance to do all three, so I grabbed the mold for one of my favorite bullets, the Lyman 429421, which is Elmer Keith's famous bullet for the .44 Special and .44 Magnum.

The Smith & Wesson Performance Center .44 Magnum Hunter 629-7 is a revolver that you guys have seen many times on my channel. Today I use it to launch a 240 grain Hornady XTP at about 1,400 fps into a row of water jugs 100 yards away.

Shooting the 44 Magnum cast with the large round hollow point, 1:25 alloy with a BHN of 8.7 into Clear Ballistics Gel from my S&W 29 with a 6.5" barrel.

Thor's Axe sent me some of his 200 grain .44 caliber FWCs.  I loaded these and shot them in my Charter Arms Bulldog, S&W 69, S&W 629, and S&W 29.

Being an early adopter can be costly. This S&W Victory is one of the first off of the assembly line with a serial number under 1K. Had I known S&W would be coming out with threaded barrel shortly after release, I probably would have waited. Instead I purchased a threaded Volquartsen barrel because my suppressor was due any day.
