First Flintlock | Trying Out a 54 Caliber Lyman Great Plains Rifle

The first time at the range with my own flintlock rifle! Others have let me try theirs, and I purchased this Lyman 54 Caliber Great Plains Rifle at a recent gun show.

I had maybe 10 or so shots with a flintlock before this outing, and my friend Rob had guided me through loading his rifle. I big “thank you” to Rob and the other black powder shooters for tolerating a rookie.
