Slugging a barrel – Did I do it right???
The Big Man
In this video I go through a process of slugging a barrel for my .45 ACP. This is my first attempt ever at this process. I am asking for help in verifying the process as much as anything else. Please take a moment and let me know it this is correct or if I have done something wrong. Comments are encouraged… I’ll even take derogatory remarks.
Two points:
- The slug was not concentric when it came out, does that mean I need to do it again with a larger piece of lead?
- The measurement at the widest point of the slug was 0.450″. What would you recommend sizing cast bullets too?
Thanks in advance for all your help..
As always, thanks for watching and until next time, have fun outside..
Here at The Big Man’s Outdoors, my family and I enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities.. Hunting, Fishing, Shooting, Camping, Hiking, Fire Sitting, and pretty much anything that gets us out. Many of these things I was brought up doing and have really never quit doing. I started reloading as a young teenager, got out of it for a bit, but now I am back… And I forgot how much I really loved it.
