How To Handle Recoil

This video demonstrates proper technique when it comes to handling recoil. Featuring a unique, high-powered rifle chambered for the old, buffalo-hunting era .45-120 cartridge (think “Quigley Down Under”), a woman uses the recommended military stance.

The rifle used in this demonstration is a Ruger No. 1, custom-chambered for the aforesaid cartridge, firing a 535 grain cast bullet at 1,600 fps at distant steel targets, fueled by smokeless powder instead of black, maximized for hunting moose in Canada.

Ending with a few humorous, failed outtakes, the video also includes instruction on how to chamber follow-up rounds quickly when shooting a single-shot rifle. Some shooting of a Winchester Model 670 chambered in .243 is included as well for comparison. All in all, a fun video many can enjoy and learn something from.
