STI was definitely thinking outside of the box when it created the Apeiro. So why discontinue it? Because the owner is parting ways with 40S&W he decided to keep this one and have the chamber reamed to 10MM. To reduce recoil and increase cycling speed, STI cut a large portion out of the top of […]

Excited to be able to test the Cutting Edge Bullets PHD 150gr 45ACP across the chronograph and into Clear Ballistics Gel. For the first time I test this round with a winter jacket over the top of the gel. What do you think of the performance? mr.revolverguywww.dayattherange.com

Before James’s friendly advice…I couldn’t hit a Bull in the butt with a base fiddle . . . much less my 1911. Actually I’m just doing my regular 50 round practice using a timer and hoping that someday I’ll be competent to shoot fast and actually hit what I’m looking at. So far it’s taking […]

Shots fired! This was the first time I got to fire my new ATI FX Military 1911, a clone of the 1911A1. I did some testing with two different powders.

I ordered a new 18.5 lb Wolff recoil spring for my ATI 1911A1.  It also came with a new firing pin spring.

It's time to head back to the range.  I loaded more of the 225 grain RNFPs that I cast from my MP mold.  This time I loaded them to a COAL of 1.185", and tested various loads of Alliant e3, and 5.8 grains of Alliant Unique.

I did this awhile ago for guys that didn’t know how to do it. I did call the grip safety a beaver tail by mistake. Hope this helps someone. I do it so often it only takes me with-in 2 minutes to have a pile of parts. Take your time to learn it will become second nature.

Shooting from the upside down position at 15 and 25 yards with a handgun.  I’ve seen people do this in movies, hanging upside down, wanted to try it out and see how hard it really is.

I could not pass up a rather rare opportunity to spend time on the range with a some what rare 1911 in the Springfield Armory 45 Super. This 1911 according to Springfield Armory was produced in Feb of 2000. It left the factory with two recoil springs a 16lb and 18.5lb the heavier for the […]

Milk jugs beware... the 22 TCM is at the range!

I've made a couple slight modifications to my new ATI FX Military 1911, a clone of the 1911A1. Then I took it back to the range.

You see these questions all the time. What is the best revolver? What is the best pistol or semi-auto? What is the best fighting handgun? There are 4 immediate thoughts that come to mind when I see these questions. The best is, what you have on you in a time of need, The one you […]

How about the BEST Sporting, Target Shooting, Self Defense Handgun? Under time trials which one do I shoot best? My first time trials with a semi-auto, and on top of all that it is a 1911. mr.revolverguywww.dayattherange.com

Casting the Accurate 45-200H & NOE 312440FN Creeker

Today I was called out to do my winter 2019 EDC video by The Big Boom Duo

In the video 'The 805 Box & The Tricorne HP' , the first HP RN Tricorne fired into the box was a fail...today I turn that fail into a success and talk about 'how I fixed it & why it failed'?

This is my Long Slide 6″ 10mm Kimber Target 1911, after getting off to a rough start she’s running good now. Buffalo's OutdoorsIf you enjoy shooting firearms, this is the author for you! Especially if you like recreational shooting and reviews from a little different perspective. Buffalo loved watching YouTube videos about firearms he was […]

This is our video response to Eagle Eye Shooting's "Long range pistol can challenge". Recorded 4th of July camp trip 2018. Filmed in Central Oregon at Camp 655 outside of Fort Rock.

I acquired this 1911 knowing it had a few bugs with the intent to learn more about the innards of the 1911, but most importantly making it run. mr.revolverguywww.dayattherange.com

(The original version of this video was posted to YouTube on November 21, 2017) It's time to head to the range.  I loaded up some of the 225 grain RNFPs that I cast from my new MP mold.  I also loaded up a few of the Lee 200 grain SWCs.

In this episode of shooting the breeze I complain about the upcoming Civilian Marksmanship Program's 1911 release.
