Chico working the Ruger American Predator 6.5 Creedmoor and T/C Compass 308 at the 1000 yard Range, at Dead Zero Shooting Park in Spencer, TN. This is a combination of my video and Tread's video. I think it turned out great.

Doing a little long range at Dead Zero in Spencer, TN. A Huge THANK YOU to Tread for sharing what he recorded with me.

Today’s post continues off the last one.  Click this link to see it.  308 T/C Compass 168g Hornady Match with IMR4895 and Reloder 15.  I determined in the last post the charge of 43.3g of RL-15 was the one I wanted to explore a little more.  This group produced a .774″ group at 100 yards […]

Continuing on with the T/C Compass series, today’s post combines my last two shooting outings, which were about a week apart.  Since my last post I had to take the range down due to farming season.  We still have been plagued by a ton of rainfall in the past couple weeks.  However it has been […]

I have had a blast this past week with my Compass.  This rifle is really impressing me.  However it is a challenging rifle, and I like that.  Two issues that I have dealt with are barrel harmonics and barrel heat.  I have found during load development, a good group is almost always followed by a […]

Since the last post, I decided to try another brand of 168g bullets for my Compass in 308.  Since this is a budget rifle, I am trying to stick to budget friendly bullets.  The 168g Speer Match bullets were not meeting my expectations.  For this week’s post, I picked up some 168g Hornady Match bullets, […]

I know it’s late in the day, but Happy Easter everyone.  We had an absolutely beautiful day here in Southern Illinois. Highs reached the mid 70’s and only a slight breeze from the South.  I took the T/C Compass back out this afternoon for round two.  If you haven’t check out the first post here’s […]

Discussing our progress on the 308 T/C Compass as well as any other thing shooting related.

Back out with the Compass today. I didn't have the best luck yesterday with it, so today I am trying something different. I have 12 rounds of Hornady 125g SST's loaded up with Varget and a few Speer 168g's that shot decent yesterday to re-shoot. After today, I have decided that the Compass is fine, it just doesn't like the Speer rounds.

Out with the .308 Compass today. Trying out the Speer 168g Match with Varget and CFE223. I even had a hangfire with one round.

Loading up the first test loads for the T/C Compass. Using Speer 168g Target Match rounds in Starline Brass and Varget. Hunting Season will end this weekend, then I can get back out to the range. Thanks to Starline for providing the Brass for the Compass. Check out The Reloaders Network https://www.thereloadersnetwork.com Check out the […]

Adding another budget rifle to the line up, the Thompson Center Compass. This one is in .308. Getting it all set up with a SWFA SS 20×42 and a EGW 20 MOA Base. Now is the time to pick up one of these. They are CHEAP…..
