The “Hangman” Marten Box (with free, updated plans)

After publishing the “How To Make Marten Box Traps (With Free Plans)” video, I was inundated with requests for the free plans I offered to share. Thanks to the interest shown, now is the time to add a finishing feature to those plans and make them available as well.

This enhancement will not only hold the trap in place when the box is hung vertically; it will also permit the trap to fall out of the box once it is sprung.

By releasing when sprung, this will permit both the trap and animal caught in it to fall out and swing over and away (where other critters won’t get to it) – assuming you have your restraining cable attached a limb, off to the side of the set.

This is a simple and useful addition to the original plans, so I thought it well worth the time to provide this update. As before, the plans are available by sending a request to the email address displayed at the end of this video.

This video is much shorter than the original which describes in detail every step of the box construction process. If you would like to see the first video, it is titled “How To Make Marten Box Traps (With Free Plans)” and can be found by clicking here: How To Make Marten Box Traps (With Free Plans)
