Trap Inspection Using a DJI Mini 3 Pro Drone (4K)
The Way to Native Chronicles
When new technology comes out, there’s often a phase where people look for ways to leverage it in novel ways. That’s pretty much what’s happening in the case of drones, since it’s a form of technology that has advanced and become more affordable recently. This video gives you a peek at how it worked out for us when we deployed one for checking our trapline using a DJI Mini 3 Pro.
Illegal in most places (not all) to use in connection with hunting, drones might have an application when it comes to trapping – although there are places (British Columbia for one) where even that is prohibited. Where we are, it’s okay though, so this video passes along the results of our testing regarding that.
This video does not conclude testing however. Here we are simply looking at the drone’s range and performance when it comes to flying low, traversing heavily wooded bush (spoiler alert: it really reduces the range).
When it comes to higher altitude flights (perhaps in search of beaver activity) the story is bound to be very different, so you might want to keep any eye out for that video when it comes.
