I came across some brand new Eley Semi Auto Benchrest Precision Ammo. I have not shot 22LR in a long time and was reminiscing of great times from my youth and decided to pick up a box to try. I am inviting all comers to this challenge. Send me your targets if you need someone […]
I acquired this 1911 knowing it had a few bugs with the intent to learn more about the innards of the 1911, but most importantly making it run. mr.revolverguy
I wanted to thank all the range fans for the support and encouragement you all have shown me over the past year. This year has been a rather difficult year for everyone, a year we all want to forget. I want all of you to know I appreciate you and wish you all a very […]
Yet again another day on the range with snub nose revolvers trying out the defensive shoot challenge. The S&W model 64 has reigned supreme; let’s see if the Ruger Service Six can dethrone the king.
I purchased this Ruger Alaskan used many years ago, got a great deal on it, and when I went to fire some of my reloads I found out why. The Alaskan would only ignite 50%, if that, of my reloads. It proved to be 100% with Hornady factory ammunition. I called and also wrote Hornady […]
This Ruger Alaskan has been modified by a qualified gunsmith that machined my cylinder for moon clips. This Ruger Alaskan is capable of firing 45ACP, 45Super, 45Schofield, 45Colt, 454Casull. Accuracy is great as long as I do my part with all rounds. Though it does show very low velocity with factory 45ACP and […]
After making the first video, 45 Colt Old But Still Useful with the 45 Colt Buffalo Bore 225gr Anti Personnel round, I received a couple of emails asking if the full wad cutter of the Buffalo Bore would feed in a carbine/lever action. I decided this would make for good content. If I could get […]
Recently I have been in debates about 10MM as personal protection. Unfortunately I seem to be the only one that thinks it is safe to carry 10MM for protection against 2 legged predators. There were three statements that continued to surface in these discussions, from those that vehemently disagreed with me on 10MM urban carry. […]
Reloading 6.5 Creedmoor Beginning to End with Mr.Revolverguy Every day I see more and more people starting to reload for many different reasons. Naively, most think it is going to save them money. I have been reloading for over two decades and I too thought the exact same thing. I have come to realize and […]
Reloading 6.5 Creedmoor with Reloader 15 Out on the range today I will test two different loads — loaded with Reloader 15 putting it up against Hornady Factory ammunition. This started to just find a light load for the medium range distance 100 to 300 yards with Reloader 15 and lighter bullets but my buddy […]
Excited to be able to test the Cutting Edge Bullets PHD 150gr 45ACP across the chronograph and into Clear Ballistics Gel. For the first time I test this round with a winter jacket over the top of the gel. What do you think of the performance? mr.revolverguy
Speeding up the brass sorting process of reloading so that I can get to what I enjoy most, chasing the most accurate rifle load and spending time on the range with revolvers. mr.revolverguy
The Cimarron BadBoy is not your traditional Single Action. This classic styled revolver with modern features holds a deep hidden great secret not known by many. mr.revolverguy
You are going to want to stay to the end to see the first time guest rifle appearance. So comparing the targets what do you all think did it make a difference? I compare them side by side towards the end. mr.revolverguy
Lapua claims: "The Lapua Biathlon Xtreme cartridge uses a newly developed, temperature insensitive powder that functions in all biathlon conditions. The bullet’s special shape ensures reliable and easy functioning and together with the new powder it provides unbeatable accuracy and consistent velocities..." We will test for some groups in the Kimber 82G and a few other rifles.
2 Years ago I started a journey sorting 22 ammo. What I found was you have two distinct parties: those that believe it absolutely makes a difference and will never go to a competition without sorting first, and those that say it is a big waste of time, just purchase quality ammo. Through this series I am going to attempt to see how much of a difference it makes, bad or good, with two different rifles. I start with rim thickness first.
