A while back, Mike Treen sent me a batch of his cast bullets to try - some very nicely cast Lyman 3118! This bullet is typically used in .32-20, and Mike suggested I try them in 300 AAC Blackout. I've finally done something with a portion of the bullets...
Last Fall, the powder coated plain base NOE 314-162-FN cast bullet showed promise in my 1891 Argentine Cavalry Carbine.
I prepared more bullets to try in the 1891 Argentine Engineer Carbine, along with a small batch of powder coated Lyman 311291 cast bullets.
Further evaluation the pointy Lyman 311413 cast bullet in 7.65x53 Argentine Mauser, fired at 25 yards from two additional rifles - my 1891 Argentine Long Rifle, and everyone's favorite Argentine Mauser - Dirty Tina.
"I'd like to see what happens with an extra grain of powder in the carbine" - westcovinadodge
A quick V/R to westcovinadodge - it appears that 17.0 grains of Alliant 2400 is on the edge!
You're an Engineer's Carbine with worn out blue,
The lands of your bore are pitted too...
It's true...
Now what am I to do?
Strange blue, kill what's inside of you.
