3 months ago I posted a video about "My New Mobile Bullet Casting Bench". Today I finish the upgrades.
I added the NOE Lead Pot Mould Guide. I also added ventilation for my casting pot.
I haven't been able to do any bullet casting, reloading, or make any trips to the gun range in about 3 months. I finally had a chance to do all three, so I grabbed the mold for one of my favorite bullets, the Lyman 429421, which is Elmer Keith's famous bullet for the .44 Special and .44 Magnum.
A video with a few 'hints & tips' about the way I cast .38/.357 FWC's; figuring how much lead to blend, weighing it out, setting up the lead pot w/PID and mould oven and casting good casts from the first pour.
It’s my first Saturday off in 2 months and I’m home alone. Time to start bullet casting. This is my first time using the Lee 4-20 pot and the Lee 358-140 SWC bullet mold. I had some wheel weight lead that I have been ordering from Ebay. Experienced casters, tell me what I did right […]
Today is the day. First time casting bullets. I am using a Lee 4 20lb pot. A NOE HTC358-133-RN-BO5 2 cavity mould. I have several pounds of processed wheel weights that I will be using. My first session this morning, about 50% were acceptable, and the second session after lunch about 85-90% were looking good.
This fourth video in the Powder Coated Cast Lead Hollow Point Bullet Testing series shows various examples of things to watch out for when inspecting your cast bullets. Inspecting your cast bullets is essential for accuracy and performance. It is not uncommon to reject 5%-20% of the bullets from a casting session.
I recently purchased a mold to cast .45 caliber bullets for my 1911. In this video, I use the mold to cast three different style bullets, and then powder coat and size them. This mold has no lube groove, and the bullets must be coated with Hi-Tek or powder coat.
A quick video showing a bullet casting session from start to finish. John's Hand LoadingJohn has been shooting since he was a kid and is now a middle aged man. He likes shooting rifles and handguns, reloading, bullet casting and the outdoors. He believes in God, freedom and a good sense of humor.
Hello, This is a video I posted on YouTube on April 26, 2018. It shows a casting session with 3 molds, one of which was given to me as a give-a-way on a Full.Lead.Taco/Loads of Bacon live stream, thus the title. This is the first attempt at casting with the Taco Mold (358477) 150 grain semi […]
I decided to try casting 44 magnum / 44 special bullets by using two molds during the same casting session. The molds are the Lyman 429421 (the Elmer Keith SWC), and the Lee 429-200-RF.
This is the third video in the Powder Coated Cast Lead Hollow Point Bullet Testing series, which is a long experiment testing powder coated cast lead hollow point bullets made from various alloys and fired at various velocities.
In this video I cast six different bullet styles from five different alloys.
Special VR to my bearded brother The Crazy Scotsman for hooking me up on my casting journey. Squatch ReloadingThis channel focuses on the guy or gal who is thinking about getting into reloading. When I first bought my Lee bottom pour Pro 4-20 lead melting pot, I loved it. I liked several things about it such as the capacity, the bottom pouring ability (much faster than my ladle casting), and the price! After using it for a while, I noticed a few things that I wish I could […]
Following are two videos that I have recorded and previously posted on YouTube concerning the PID Temperature Controller I use with my Lee 4-20 casting pot. I based my PID design on the excellent instructions provided by Johnny's Reloading Bench. Since he did such a great job instructing, these videos are geared more at demonstrating my assembly process. I have been using this setup now for the last year and have not had one complaint about it. It has worked flawlessly for me so far.
For Lee 4-20 pot, you need around 1.5 inch riser with the NOE hollow point mold fuzztfork8Began reloading in 1976; casting in 1977 when good lead wheel weights were everywhere..There is something about making your own and being self-sufficient, that intrigued me.
Casting Keith Semi-Wadcutters with the Lyman 429421 Four Cavity Mold for .44 Special Skeeter Loads. I use my electric brewery equipment to control the temperature of the 220 Volt LEE Pro 4-20 Bottom Pour Pot.
